This story kicked butt
Dang it if I don’t love L. J. Shen and her books. Tyed is so unlike what I expected out of an MMA romance. Generally, the guys are super alpha and grunt and groan and order people around. Tyler is a little bit of all that, but dang if he doesn’t have a freaking heart of gold. Blaire, the heroine, is a fun, apathetic, hipster and kick-ass girl all rolled into one. Characters make a story and had these two been written differently, this story would not have been nearly as good.
Tyed is a story of boy and a girl who are complete opposites but bring out the best in each other.
Blaire has to write an article on MMA for her journalism class. She totally doesn’t know a thing about MMA, but if she wants to graduate, she has to write a great article. So, she heads to the local MMA gym at the suggestion of her bestie, Shane, who’s roommate used to go to that gym. Blaire runs into a scary dude with tattoos who drives a giant monster truck and wears a lot of things with skulls on them. He, of course, is all grr and stuff, but sexy as heck.
Tyler and Blaire fight their attraction at first, but when they give in…oh my, it’s fan yourself hot. Things are good and then their not (as generally happens in books) and we see just how important they are to each other.
My Recommendation: If you’re not familiar with L. J. Shen, you need to be and you need to go and grab this book ASAP!
