The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel

Author:  Vi Keeland

Publication Date:  January 17, 2016

My rating:  5/5 Stars

Synopsis:

Three consecutive weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list and #1 on Amazon.
From New York Times USA Today Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.

It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.
The famed quarterback decided to bare all.
And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.
No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera.
The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby–screwing with me.
When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.
But I don’t date players.
And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.
I’d date an athlete.
It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.
You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.

Brody Easton was the ultimate player.
Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.
But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.
Turned out, I was that girl.
Simple right?
Let’s face it. It never is.
There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…
And this one is ours.

Author’s note – The Baller is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

My Review:

Woah!  What did I just read?  Why was I so late to the game with this one?  Why can’t all men be Brody Easton?

Those are all the questions that ran through my mind after finishing The Baller.  I seriously swooned for Brody Easton.  Sure he’s an alpha male, football player with a dirty mouth and a gigantic ego, but there is something different about him from lots of those other football players in the books out there—Brody Easton has a heart…a big one.

I loved The Baller.  From the moment he met Delilah things went from hot to hotter, but they didn’t immediately hop into bed and boom they’re in love.  No, Brody wooed Delilah, but that didn’t stop him from telling her exactly what he wanted to do to her and, woah, was it hot!  Of course, we can’t have two characters just fall in love and be happy.  Nope.  That’s not how it works.  So, there are both internal and external forces at work.  There are exes, other suitors, family issues, etc.  However, this all comes together to make a really beautiful love story and a surprisingly believable one.

If you’ve been under a rock like me and haven’t read The Baller…do it.  Go on.  Run along and on-click this this book right now.
