My Review:

Rating: 3 stars

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book of Christa Maurice’s that I have read. I love a good rock star romance and the underlying story in Baby Come Back was sweet and romantic. Unfortunately, this book was too frenetic. I was lost at times as the story jumped from character to character. I also think I was a bit lost because I hadn’t read the first three books.

Jenny was Trent’s go-to groupie back in the day. Then she left suddenly in the middle of the night and Trent had no idea why. Four years later, he returns to Cleveland and looks for Jenny, only to essentially shut down with no clue as to why. Jenny shuts him down because she loves him but doesn’t think he feels the same. Oh, and there is the little matter of the baby she had that is his and she didn’t tell him about it.

I kind of love a secret baby story. This one was pretty good, but the book was so short I felt a bit cheated. I wanted more.

Underneath it all, Baby Come Back is a good story with romance and angst. Maybe just read the first three books first.
