It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?
It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?
Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.
Her: PHOTO ATTACHED
Him: PHOTO ATTACHED
Text 2 Lovers was not what I thought it would be, but that certainly isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it was quite the opposite. K. Webster and J. D. Hollyfield have written a great book that will having you laughing one minute and swooning the next. The short but sweet: Dani gets drunk after a breakup and accidentally sends a series of mean texts to the wrong number, but the receiver turns out to be the right guy.
Hollyfield and Webster throw all kinds of fun punches with this fun romantic comedy. A fun story of a misdirected text that leads to an epic romance. The main characters, Dani and Ram (yes, Ram, but hey, it’s short for Ramsey), are both endearing in their own ways. Dani is timid and overly apologetic. She lets people walk all over her. Ram is down on his luck and suffers from depression. He is also too trusting in his own way. Their relationship does go from zero to sixty after they finally meet face to face, but it actually made sense for that to happen. Of course, things are all hunky dory the entire book and there was one part that made me very sad, but I thought it was written so well. The secondary characters are just as great, but especially Andie, Dani’s bestie, and Roman, Ram’s brother. I’m super excited they get their own book!
I want to send a little shout out to K. Webster and J.D. Hollyfield on their fine handling of the topic of depression. It is not an easy subject for anyone and while they could have just used the depression as a vehicle for the story and not given the disease its due, they wrote it in such a way that didn’t use it as an excuse or make light of it in any way. They also did a great job of writing the reactions of the supporting characters and actually did a nice job of showing how important support is to those suffering from depression. So my kudos to you both.
Text 2 Lovers is an entertaining romantic comedy. Great characters and some super hot sexy times only add to the fun. This is one you don’t want to miss!
