Bree Jensen is a force to be reckoned with. She’s feisty, energetic, and isn’t afraid of speaking her mind. She’s also a clumsy mess in need of a job.
When Derrick meets Bree, she isn’t just a breath of fresh air, she’s a freaking hurricane. However, even the gorgeous new girl in HR can’t make him break his one rule: No dating employees. Ever.
The only problem? Bree’s never been very good at following orders, and Derrick’s self-imposed no-fraternization policy is like waving a red flag in front of a very determined bull.
Will her unconventional tactics finally cause Derrick to toss his precious rule book in the trash or will it cause an even larger rift between the two?
This is a really good debut novel! Kudos to Kelsie Rae!
Breezy is brash, bold, fun and flirty. She and Derrick have an unfortunate encounter, but the attraction is evident. Suddenly, she is working for his company and despite his self-imposed no dating the employees rule, they can’t fight their attraction to one another, especially when Breezy won’t give up.
So there isn’t anything particularly ground-breaking in this book. It is a tried and true trope, but I really enjoyed it. Breezy is a fun character, if a little pushy. She has the nickname Hurricane for a reason, after all. Derrick was a good hero. He caved pretty quickly to Breezy’s machinations, but he was always holding back a bit due to past relationships gone wrong. I loved Jude, the secondary character who was more than just plot driver. I was thrilled to read at the end of the book that Jude will be getting his own book soon! Kelsie Rae has a knack for storytelling. The book was a quick read and kept me interested from start to finish. The book is sexy but clean. No descriptive sex scenes, just implied.
Great debut! Fun, flirty read!
Kelsie prides herself on writing straight from her own heart, which is how she fell into sweet contemporary romance. She’s a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she’s not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, playing with her “monsters”.
She adores chocolate, photography, baking, chick flicks, and running. And now that she’s actively pursuing her writing dreams, she’s set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not eat an entire batch of cookies in one sitting.
