Blog Tour: 5 Stars for Firefly by Molly McAdams!

Title: Firefly
Author: Molly McAdams
Series: A Redemption Novel
Genre: Romantic Suspense

“I’m wrecked, ruined, destroyed, and in awe.” – #1 New York Times bestselling author, Rachel Van Dyken

The next captivating installment in New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams’s Redemption series.

As the Princess of the Irish-American Mob, there’s no shortage of men ready to help guard and protect me. To slowly suffocate me to the point of seeking freedom—a place where I can breathe.

Kieran Hayes has been saving me for as long as I can remember. It’s in his blood, and one of the many reasons I fell in love with him. Until my favorite trait became his biggest flaw, making me resent the man I love. An unwavering warrior, his love for me has been shrouded by those instincts.

Save Lily. Protect Lily. Hide Lily. Cage Lily.

What I wasn’t prepared for was Dare—the man who would set my world on fire with just one touch. He saw straight through to my soul, as though he knew I was desperate for freedom, and silently demanded my heart from the beginning.

And I didn’t expect Dare to be Demitri Borello—the reason for so many deaths in my family. A man who will take my life the moment he finds out who I am.

Despite it all, I’ll love him until that moment comes.

A fire will die if there is no oxygen for it to consume. Ours is rapidly stealing every last breath we can sacrifice to it.

***The Redemption series is a series of romantic suspense standalones***

My Review:

5 Stars!

I am wrecked! This book wrecked me in the best way!

The second book in the Redemption series is an emotional tale of enemies-to-lovers, competing worlds and recognizing your soul mate in the last place you would expect.

Lily O’Sullivan is trapped. Trapped in a her life. Trapped in a relationship. Trapped by the people who love her most and some who don’t. She longs for something else. She finds that something else in a person who is her sworn enemy. Dare is the leader of the Italian mafia in their town. He is angry and looking for revenge, while trying to pull his family out of the bad business of mafia life. He suffered a terribly tragedy at the hands of his sworn enemies and longs for revenge, has been planning it for years. He never thought he would love again, until her.

This is a complicated story with so much history driving it. Lily and Dare are complicated and beautiful. I swear Molly McAdams words are like poetry at times, sucking you in and making you feel deeply. I wanted to cry and rage at Lily and Dare’s situation. I rooted so hard for them and yet couldn’t see a way for them to be together. I felt it all.

The writing is amazing. The secondary characters are engaging and I found myself wanting more of them. I felt for some and raged against others. This is not a quick read. It is thoughtful and engrossing and you won’t want to miss a single word or emotion.

Firefly goes on my Top Reads of 2017 list! Grab it today!

“Nothing’s getting past me,” I assured her.

Her breath washed over my lips as I leaned in to kiss her again when she whispered, “I thought we were talking about you.”

I paused for a few seconds, then looked up into her hazel eyes. “What?”

“I think I’m in danger from you.”

My brow pulled tight, and I forced out a low, frustrated laugh. “Me.”

She nodded again, the movement of her head so slow as her eyes explored mine. “I need you to let me go for so many reasons, but I easily forget why when you don’t. I think there was a reason neither of us crossed that invisible barrier before today. Because being in your arms?” She hesitated, her tongue quickly darting out to wet her lips. “Trust me, it’s dangerous.”

A weight pressed down on my chest, making it hard to breathe. Because damn it if she wasn’t right.

There were dozens of girls over the years who’d meant nothing more than a night. Maybe two. Not one could I remember the name of, most I couldn’t remember their face.

Then there’d been one who I would’ve sold my soul for if I could’ve had one more night with her.

My days with her had been everything. A slow burn that had built over time until I hadn’t been able to get enough of her. Until she’d meant too much.

And there hadn’t been a girl since.

Not a second glance. Not a thought. Nothing.

Until one morning at Brooks a few years ago.

But there was nothing slow about the thoughts and needs for the girl pressed against me. There hadn’t been since the very first morning I’d found her staring at a mirror like it had the power to destroy her world. Like that possibility fascinated her.

Fuck, if I didn’t need to find out why.

Dangerous was exactly what we were. Only she had no idea just how much.

My gut twisted as unwanted thoughts entered my mind, but I pushed them away. Because I knew what I needed to do. I needed to let her go and force myself not to follow.

But when there’s a flicker of light in your life after so much darkness, it’s impossible to stay away.

And this girl burned so damn bright.

Calling to me and beckoning me toward her, and I knew no matter how many times I let her slip away, I would follow her just to catch her again.

I brushed my thumb across her full lips. “Goddamn firefly.”

A powerhouse romantic suspense that will have you questioning your morals and second guessing your view on love.

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Review Blitz: 5 Stars for Trust by Kylie Scott

Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love…the first time someone holds a gun to your head.

After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, seventeen year old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.

While Edie’s beginning to run wild, however, John’s just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he’s going straight—getting to class on time, and thinking about the future.

An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and helps her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first—losing her virginity—their friendship gets complicated.

Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose—each other.

My Review:

5 Stars!

Dive into this amazing YA read!

Edie and John survive a harrowing experience that changes their lives and then go their separate ways. When they are unexpectedly reunited, they start a tentative friendship that slowly grows into more as they lean on each other to survive, to cope and to heal.

Kylie Scott has written a complicated story of healing, recovery and learning to trust again. Edie and John are complicated characters with so much depth. The story never rushes, instead moving along at a steady pace in a way that gives the reader the opportunity to feel and absorb and really care about the characters. Edie is insecure and tentative at the beginning, but as time progresses she really comes into her own. As she gives into the fear and uses it constructively to improve her life, you find yourself rooting for her to be okay, to let go. John is complex and brooding. His life was already complicated before the robbery, but after, he makes a concerted effort to change only to be met with resistance from others. No one believes John can be more than he was except Edie. Eventually, they rely on each other to heal and cope, because no one else an fully understand what they went through. Their road to recovery is not an easy one and Scott took the time to write honestly and carefully, never rushing and yet pushing the characters just enough. She lets their relationship develop and grow naturally culminating in a lovely partnership between two people who need and love each other.

This highly anticipated YA book from the amazing Kylie Scott is a 5 star read and one of my top reads of 2017!

“You were going to give it up to Duncan Dickerson?” he sneered. “Are you serious?”

I halted, staring at him. This was not good. “How do you know about that?”

“Anders overheard you and Hang talking.”

“Bastard.”

“Well?” he demanded, acting all authoritarian. Idiot.

“To be fair, I didn’t know his last name was Dickerson,” I said. “That’s unfortunate. Though, I wasn’t actually planning on marrying him, so . . .”

“Not funny.”

I shrugged.

“You barely know the guy.”

“Um, yeah. None of your concern. We’re not talking about this.” How mortifying! My face burned bright. People should just gather around and cook s’mores. “I appreciate that we’re friends. You mean a lot to me. But this is going to have to fall under definitely none of your damn business, so go away please.”

“We’re talking about it.” He advanced a step.

“No we are not.” And I retreated.

“You were going to let a complete stranger touch you.” Advance.

Retreat. “People do it all the time. You do it all the time.”

“But you don’t,” he said, taking the final step, backing me up against the side of his car and getting all in my face. “Edie, this is your first time we’re talking about. Isn’t it?”

“Yes, and it’s going to be messy and painful and probably horribly embarrassing and I just want it over and done with.” I tried to meet his eyes but failed, settling for a spot on his right shoulder. “You’re not a girl; you wouldn’t understand. Also, last time I checked, you’re not the gatekeeper of my hymen, John Cole. So back the fuck off.”

He said nothing.

Deep, calming breaths. “Look, someday I’ll meet someone I really like and we’ll have a deep and meaningful relationship and go at it like bunnies. But I don’t want to be the dumb virgin in that scenario.”

He slowly shook his head.

“Also, I do not want to die a virgin.”

“What? What the hell are you talking about?”

“Hey, you and I both know death can occur at any time.”

“This is crazy.”

“I’m seeing a therapist!” I told his shoulder. “I don’t know if you noticed, but I’m a little bit messed up these days. It’s hard for me to trust people. That’s not going to change anytime soon.”

He screwed up his face at me. “Wha—”

“I’m just trying to be practical.”

“Well, you’re being ridiculous. None of this makes sense.”

“It does to me.”

Again, he said nothing.

In fact, he said nothing for so long that I finally looked him in the eye. The anger had left him, replaced by an emotion I didn’t recognize. Worst of all, he still smelled like summer. A little sweat and the open night air, everything I loved. Liked. I meant liked.

“What?” I said, finally.

He let loose a breath. “I’ll do it.”

Review: 5 Stars for The Catch by K. Bromberg! #TopReadof2017

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

My Review:

5 Stars!!

The conclusion to The Player Duet is here!

I have to tell, I thought the first book was amazing and then that cliffhanger, I just wasn’t sure where K. Bromberg would go with all of this. Then, I dove into The Catch and from the opening paragraph I was floored with this book. The emotions, the story, the twists I never saw coming. This book is nearly gutted me with emotion.

Scout and Easton… swoon. I just don’t think their story could have been done any better. I really dont. K. Bromberg’s creative mind was on point with this duet and especially this book. I picked it up and I read and I read and I read. I waved family members away, told my kids to fix their own lunches, told my husband to figure out dinner because I was not setting this book down until I was done with it. Then I hit the end and I sighed the longest, most contented sigh before I cried. I couldn’t help it. It was so emotionally satisfK. Bromying.

The Catch did more than just give us two amazing characters to love, it gave us a world of love, hope, disappointment, secrets and passion. A must read, The Catch is AMAZING!

young couple in love, studio shot

From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a brand new series set on Blueberry Lane!

The Director and Don Juan is the second of four books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.

Heiress Alice Story left her father’s company three years ago in a blaze of glory, inviting all of his employees to jump ship and join her, but only one accepted her offer: mail room clerk, Carlos Vega.

While Alice spent the next three years getting her own company off the ground, Carlos became her indispensable right-hand man — executive assistant and office manager, loyal counsel and trusted co-worker.

And all the while, they were quietly falling in love with each other.

When Alice is offered a lucrative business deal in Puerto Rico, island-born Carlos is the perfect person to accompany her on her trip as translator, but as they travel together from Philadelphia to Santo Domingo to Ponce, two unlikely co-workers will discover that during their three years working together, their feelings for each other have grown far deeper than they ever could have guessed.

And though business-minded, proper Alice will try her very best to ignore the longings of her heart, scorching hot, insanely sexy Boricua, Carlos, has no intention of letting her go.
***

My Review:

5 Stars!

OMG this book!

Alice Story took a chance three years ago on starting her own company and the man who took a chance and followed her there. Carlos worked in the mailroom at Story Imports, but he wanted more. When Alice Story abruptly quits and offers him a chance at her new company, he trusts her and goes. Over the next three years, Alice works hard to build her business and does so with Carlos by her side as her trusted assistant and friend. Alice trusts him and can’t live without him at work, but Carlos has been in love with her the entire time. When she takes him along on a business trip, he sees his opportunity to show her how he feels and how good it can be.

This book tackles more than just a forbidden office romance. Regnery addresses ethnicity, sexism, and age differences. She weaves a beautiful tale of romance and emotion, of letting go of fear and letting in the people who really matter. The majority of this book is set in a beautiful, tropical backdrop that lends itself to the romance. The road to happiness for Carlos and Alice is not an easy one, largely due to Alice’s own self-doubts.

The writing was amazing, as usual. The story flowed and progressed nicely. I loved the extra attention Regnery paid to the cultural aspects of the book.

This is hands down my favorite Katy Regnery book!

My Review:

5 Stars!!!

Top Read of 2017

I fell in love with this amazing series after reading the first book in the series.  I have been desperately waiting to read book two and it is amazing!
This second chance romance has all the feels.  Nick and Emmy will steal your heart while reclaiming each other’s love.  Their beginning is unconventional and so sweet.  The book skips ahead nine years and reconnects Nick and Emmy.  The story is complicated and involves many plot layers.  The romantic suspense element is nearly perfect.
If you haven’t read this series yet, you must.  It is amazing and engrossing.
Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are interconnected enough that it could spoil a previous book.  Devney Perry is on my favorite authors list.  I can’t wait to read more from her and this series!

New Release: 5 Stars for Chasing Ellie by Paige P. Horne

Title: Chasing Ellie
A Chasing Fireflies Standalone Spin Off
Author: Paige P. Horne
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 12, 2017
Blurb
I’m the wild girl whose mom decided she didn’t want to live anymore. I grew up with a daddy who only had half a heart, in a town where everyone knows everyone. I’ve feared love nearly my whole life because I’ve seen first-hand what losing it looks like. It’s ugly, it’s scary and its pain is almost unbearable. When I was nine years old, my daddy told me you’ll only find one true love in this life.“It’s the rarest but truest love there is, Little Miss. You find it and you never let it go.”

But I didn’t share the chief’s feelings.

Until one summer day when a brown eyed boy with a busted lip and a smirk, showed up in the small town of Green Ridge. Tommy Kingsley started to change everything. The boy from the south side of Chicago taught me that love isn’t something to be feared and that it’s the only thing that makes everything else worth it. He gave me hope and this story tells you how.

My Review:

5 Stars!

So many feels!  So many!

Chasing Ellie is an absolutely fantastic read.  Spanning over ten years, we see Ellie from childhood to adulthood.  Ellie has a tough life.  She lives with the stigma of her mother, a father who only half loves her and the need to protect her heart.  When Tommy shows up, a hardened boy from the rough, south side of Chicago, he is immediately drawn to Ellie.  He wants more from her than she is willing to give and she can’t get over the need to keep herself protected from heartbreak and loss.

I went through every emotion while reading this beautiful story.  I was immediately drawn to Ellie and her saga.  Tommy, while rough around the edges, had a good heart and he tried his hardest not to push Ellie.  I really appreciated the pace of the story.  Nothing was forced or rushed.  As a reader, I was able to really immerse myself in their world and their feelings.

Chasing Ellie is an engrossing read rife with emotional turmoil and full of so much heart.  A must read!

Blog Tour: 5 Stars for Chance Encounters by Jessica Prince

Chance Encounters
by Jessica Prince
Publication Date: May 8th, 2017
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Chance Encounters, an all-new romantic comedy from Jessica Prince is available now!!

CHance-Encounters-for-web

There are three kinds of nerdy women in the world.

– The Sexy Nerd

– The Confident Nerd; and

– The So-Socially-Awkward-it’s-Painful-to-Watch Nerd.

You can probably guess which one I am. After witnessing me making a fool of myself, Chance Hoffman decided to take pity on me. He’s smart, sexy, charming, and totally out of my league… and for some unexplainable reason, he wants to help me. Who am I to say no? Besides, I need all the assistance I can get.

There are three things that make a woman irresistible.

– Confidence

– A Wicked Sense of Humor; and

– A Killer Rack.

Melany Fitzgerald had none of those things. Or so I thought… until I really got to know her. She’s the total package and she doesn’t even realize it. Now I’m stuck with the uncomfortable task of helping her land another guy, all the while trying to ignore the fact that I’m starting to fall for her.

She thinks she’s an ugly duckling and wants to become a swan. All I want is her. And I’m not giving up without a fight.

My Review

5 Stars!

I FLOVED this book so hard!

Melany is a shy, backward 31 year old with a long time crush on a guy from the office.  She has never been able to approach him and when he is around she is a stuttering mess.  Then, she meets Chance, her boss’s fiancee’s co-worker who is hot and funny and confident.  They meet again and he sees something in her and decides to help her gain confidence.  Think The Ugly Duckling.

The banter between Chance and Melany is funny and sweet.  The chemistry pops off the pages.  As the story progresses, Melany becomes more confident and strong and it is such fun to read.  Chance is like a dream.  He is seriously a top book boyfriend contender.

A great story of blossoming into the person you were always meant to be and finding love along the way.

About the Author:

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

Review Blitz: 5 Stars for The Hot Shot by Kristen Callihan!!!

the hot shot AN

TheHotShot Amazon-2First we were friends. Then we were roommates. Now I want more…

What can I say about Chess Copper? The woman is capable of bringing me to my knees. I know this about five minutes after getting naked for her.

No one is more surprised than me. The prickly photographer my team hired to shoot our annual charity calendar isn’t my usual type. She’s defense to my offense, a challenge at every turn. But when I’m with her, all the regrets and darkness goes away. She makes life fun.

I want to know Chess, be close to her. Which is a bad idea.

Chess is looking for a relationship. I’ve never given a woman more than one night. But when fate leaves Chess without a home, I step up and offer her mine. We’re roommates now. Friends without benefits. But it’s getting harder to keep our hands off each other. And the longer we live together the more I realize she’s becoming my everything.

Trick is… Now that I’ve made her believe I’m a bad bet, how do I convince her to give this player a true shot at forever?

My Review:

5 Stars!

I have read every book in this series and I have loved them all, but nothing comes close to the love I have for this book.  For serious!  Kristen Callihan has taken her beloved Game On series to another level with Chess and Finn’s book.

Chester “Chess” Copper was mentioned in Dex’s book.  She is the photographer who was hired to shoot a naked beefcake calendar featuring the guys on the NOLA football team, including Dex, Rolando and Finn Mannus, the QB.  She is smart, sassy and yet introverted.  Her first interaction with Finn started off on the wrong foot, but things got fun and a little heated.

Finn Mannus is sexy and strong, both physically and emotionally.  He has a fun, playful side that makes him nearly irresistible.  But, he is a bit tortured, having suffered a loss that haunts him.  From the get go, you will find yourself rooting for this couple based entirely on these moments during the photoshoot.

This isn’t just a fluffy sports romance.  It’s a smart romance about trust, loss, and love.  That’s what I like so much about Callihan’s writing.  She writes these great characters and steamy romantic goodness, but her characters are very relatable, even if they are sports stars.  She smoothly eases the series along by introducing us to new characters while not letting us forget about the characters who came before them.  It is like a fun reunion with old friends, while making new ones at a stellar party.

Five stars for The Hot Shot because sports romance doesn’t get much better than this!

CHESS

Grumbling, I toss on some black lounge pants and my oversized Tulane t-shirt and head to the drugstore.

My head throbs by the time I get there, and my insides are writhing. I rest my hand against my lower stomach and grab a basket before calling James to complain.

“I swear,” I tell him as I grab a bottle of painkillers. “It’s like this entire day has been cursed.”

He snickers. “Curse. Get it? Curse?”

I roll my eyes, even though he can’t see me. “Laugh it up. Meanwhile, it feels as if someone is playing Battleship in my uterus.”

“Poor Chessie bear. At least we know why you were in such a foul mood.”

A flush washes over my cheeks. “Yeah.” Lie. Lie. Lie. A tub of salted caramel gelato makes its way into the basket.

“Tell me you’re getting some gelato,” James says.

I smile. “Just grabbed it.”

“Salted caramel?”

“You know it.”

I find the feminine products aisle and search for my brand. “I’m going to go home, take a long bath with my gelato, and forget this fucking day.” Forget Finn. “And then I’m going to go on Amazon and buying a freaking year’s supply of tampons so I don’t have to make these kinds of emergency runs anymore.”

A low, deep chuckle rumbles from behind me, and all the tiny hairs lift on my arms.

“But you’ll still need your gelato,” a familiar—fuck me, seriously?—voice points out.

My insides swoop even as my cheeks burn.

“Who is that?” James asks in my ear.

I slowly turn on one heel. “The plague,” I say, glaring up at Finn Mannus’s smiling face.

“From asshat to plague.” Finn scrunches up his brow. “I’m not sure if that’s a step down or a tie.”

“Who is that?” James nearly yells now.

I don’t take my eyes off Finn. “I’ll call you back.”

James’s squawks of protest cut off as I hit the end button.

“Are you stalking me, Mannus?”

Finn a rests his hands low on his lean hips. “Having a healthy amount of conceit myself, I have to admire yours, but no, buttercup. My buddy Woodson lives a few blocks away. It’s poker night. I’m stocking up on beer.”

It’s only then I notice a twelve pack tucked under his other arm.

“And tampons?” I ask, with a pointed look around the aisle we’re standing in.

“Not tonight,” he says easily. “Though we used to keep a pack of them back in college. Light flows were perfect for stopping up bloody noses.”

A snort escapes me. “Now there’s a visual.” Somehow, I’ve taken a step closer to him. He’s freshly showered, the golden brown strands of his hair still damp at his temples. And I wonder if he’s just come from the gym or practice. “So back in college you went and bought these tampons?”

“Nah,” he says with a cheeky smile. “I’d ask one of the girls hanging around to get me some.”

“Of course you did.” My nose wrinkles with annoyance.

“Give me a little credit, Chess. I’d buy them now if I had to.”

“Hmm…” I eye him, trying not to return his smile. If only because it’s more fun when he teases. “So why are you in this aisle now, if not for potential nosebleed needs?”

“That’s easy.” He steps closer, a warm wall of muscle and clean scent. “I heard your voice.”

For a second I just blink. “You recognized my voice?”

His gaze darts over my face as if he’s trying to get a read on why I’m gaping at him. “Not to be…ah…rude, but you’re loud when you talk on the phone.”

“Yeah, but… You recognized it.” We’d only just met. It occurs to me that I’d recognized his both times he’d snuck up on me. Then again, his voice is distinctive, flowing like hot honey when he’s relaxed or hammering down like iron to rock when he’s taking command of a situation.

A soft flush of pink tints the tips of his ears. If I wasn’t staring at him, I might have missed it. He shifts his weight. “Was I not supposed to?”

“No. Yes.” I shake my head and laugh. “I don’t know.”

He grins then. “You’re cute when you’re flustered.”

“I’m not flustered.” I am.

Review Blitz: 5 Stars for The Player by K. Bromberg!!!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?

My Review:

5 Stars!

Woah!  Just give me a minute to recover from this book…

Ok.  I’m good.

This book.  Seriously!  This book!  I FLOVED it so much!!  I was sucked in from the moment Easton and Scout were on the same page.  The build up to their first time together was sweet and sexy and the payoff was so satisfying.  Then, the book just got better and better.

Easton and Scout aren’t easy characters, which I appreciate.  They are complicated and flawed and scarred, not in obvious way, but in subtle little hints of the things that cause them strife.  Apart, they are incomplete and weak, but together, they are whole and strong and lift each other up.

Of course, you can’t have a good book without a little conflict and there was plenty of conflict that came in many different forms.  Their relationship was definitely tested and that ending?  Gah!  How am I supposed to wait until June?!?!

The Player is a fantastic sports romance.  It has all the feels!  Make sure you set aside a block of time, because once you pick this up, you won’t be able to put it down!  This is hands down my favorite baseball romance ever!
