Title: Dead & Buried

Author: Rebecca Jennifer

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Dead & Buried:

You ever hear the phrase, about as successful as a soup sandwich? Well, that’s me, I’m the soup sandwich, but instead of a soggy mess, you have a twenty five year old with a Bachelor’s degree in nothing useful who just quit her job at the local home improvement store where there were definitely no tortured billionaires looking to tie anyone up–and that’s not a bad thing. I know, it’s looking pretty sad right about now, but at least I don’t still live with my parents…

So, here I am, embarking on a new journey covering the Funerals and Obituaries section of the local paper, the San Diego Metro News, for the editor–brace yourself--my uncle, Sal. Unfortunately, while my parents are on vacation, my Granny and her friends are determined to stir up some trouble–but this time, they may have bitten off more than they can chew–especially when some of the residents of the local retirement community are turning up unnaturally dead.

There is nothing that will keep me from protecting the people that I love, no matter how crazy they may be–not even the sexy, I mean stubborn, homicide detective, Trent Foyle, can stop me.

My name is Shelby Whitmore and I’m kind of the newest reporter for the San Diego Metro News, but hey, I’m a hit with the blue hairs.

My Review:

4 Stars!

A hilarious, LOL funny romantic comedy/suspense that will bring you to tears!

From the first page of this quirky book, I laughed, snorted and giggled. Between the goofy, meddlesome residents of the retirement home, Trent’s relentless pursuit of Shelby and Shelby’s inability to function in life, I was swept into the story and just didn’t want to put it down. I loved the back and forth banter between Trent and Shelby. The grannies were hysterical with their no-filter selves. There is a fun little mystery going on throughout the book that just adds a fun layer.

Trust me, you need to grab this book. It will bring a smile to your face and having you swooning over the sexy detective!

Blog Tour: 4.5 Stars for Souls to the Polls by Patricia Murphy!

Souls to the Polls
Patricia Murphy

souls to the polls cover.png
Maggie Frew is a demon. Like all demons, she works in politics – keeping her darkness under control by feeding it a steady diet of malevolence and sin.
The problem: Maggie’s candidate in Virginia, older than dirt Peter Cameron , doesn’t have an evil bone in his body. And without a steady source of food, Maggie’s demon could wind up controlling her.
The plot thickens: A crime spree heats up in the sleepy town of Leesburg, Virginia, thanks to a rogue demon intent on creating mayhem. And now the creature has set its sights on Maggie.
Somehow, Maggie will have to find a new source of food, stop a rogue demon from exposing its existence to the world, and manage a campaign team made up of two seventy year-old Lesbians and Harry the Terrified Intern.
It’s high octane politics, comedy, romance, and campaign sabotage in Souls to the Polls

My Review:

4.5 Stars!

I loved Souls to the Polls!

Souls to the Polls is a smart, quirky, fun read from Patricia Murphy.  It is a unique take on politics, albeit a loose one.  Murphy has this fantastic way of writing sarcasm that will get you every time.  Her characters all have depth, right down to the secondary characters, some of whom were stars in their own rights.  Hello, Harry?  I’m talking about you!

The gist of the story is this…Maggie Frew is a demon, sort of.  I’ll let you read and find out just how she is a demon, because I found the whole explanation so freaking clever.  Only certain people know the demon portion of her exists, her family and other demons.  So, when you are reading her conversations with her family, especially her mother, you can’t help but laugh at how blasé they are about the whole thing.  In the book, demons work on political campaigns as campaign managers.  Hmm, makes you wonder now doesn’t it.  She gets her assignments from her priest.  No, really.  She is assigned to a campaign in Virginia and what ensues will have you laughing out loud and reading as fast as you can to see what happens next.   I won’t tell you anything else, because I don’t want to ruin the book for you, but suffice it to say, this book is great!

I can’t wait for book two…already.

About Patty:

Patricia Murphy is a full-time writer in Washington, DC. She has a lot of years of experience working on campaign politics all throughout the US though, by her own admission, she was a pretty lousy campaign manager. This is due entirely to the fact that she spent most of her time writing about the off-the-wall anecdotes and colorful characters she met along the way instead of actually running the campaign.
Patricia is happily married with two overweight cats and her first child on the way. In her spare time, she enjoys yelling at the television during presidential debates and eating cold pizza for breakfast.

New Release! 4 Stars for Clam Jam by RC Boldt

Title: Clam Jam
Author: RC Boldt
Genre: Romantic Comedy/New Adult Romance
Release Date: January 10, 2017

“Clam Jam”

Definition: the female equivalent of a cock block.
Example: You’re chatting with a guy you’re interested in and your friend comes along and lays claim to him.Maggie

That’s my life—except it’s worse. My friend who keeps “jamming” me is my gay roommate and if that isn’t a W.T.F. moment, I’m not sure what is.Fact: He went home with three—yes, three—of the guys I had been so sure were into me.

Fact: He’s really pissing me off. I mean, hello? I’m trying to get back in the saddle, but I’ll never manage to get a boyfriend before the age of fifty if he keeps this up.

Fact: Secretly, I wonder what it would be like if he weren’t gay. Why do all the hot, sweet, tender-hearted guys have to be gay?

Fact: My gay-dar needs a serious tune-up.

The day I interviewed for the room to rent, everything changed. I knew I had met “the girl”, except there was one small problem: she didn’t want anything to do with men. I recognized a top-notch force field when I saw one. She’d been burned badly and didn’t want to deal with a heterosexual guy as a roommate. I could’ve turned around and found another place to live, but I wanted to live there—with her.So I had to go “undercover”.

Fact: I’m in love with my roommate.

Fact: I’m a likely candidate for carpal tunnel surgery since all the action I’ve had for the past year has been my hand.

Fact: She’s going to hate me if I come clean now.

Fact: I’m not giving up. Which means, I’ll just have to continue to run defense until I figure out a way to get Maggie to see the “real” me.

The me that loves her.

The me that would never do her wrong.

Until then, I’ll keep running off every guy who shows any interest.

Until then, I’ll continue to Clam Jam.

My Review:

4/5 Stars!

I don’t think I’ve read a R. C. Boldt book I didn’t like and Clam Jam is no different!  R. C. Boldt mixes humor, romance and hot sex to create this perfectly fun novel!

Maggie is minus a roommate after she catches her boyfriend cheating on her.  She would live alone, but the apartment she lives in is expensive.  So she posts flyers looking for a roommate.  Enter Ryland.  He’s sweet, sexy, funny and…gay.  It’s the perfect living arrangement.  They become fast friends, best friends and start doing everything together.  Except, when Maggie decides she’s ready to start dating again, Ry clam jams her at every turn.

I love the phrase clam jam!  So freaking much!

These characters are great.  Some of Boldt’s best in my opinion.  Maggie is immediately likable and her inner voice is hysterical.  Her sassy best friend, Sarah, is great.  Ryland is a dream.  He is like the perfect guy.  Then there is his “boyfriend”/best friend, Jack.

I loved the whole concept of the story.  However, I found myself wanting to yell at Maggie for not seeing Ryland for what he really was.  I mean, seriously?  How clueless can you be?  It takes 90% of the book before Ry’s secret finally comes out and things implode.  Of course, there is a happy ending and, honestly, the feminist in me was super happy it took Maggie so long to forgive Ry.  He deserved to suffer for what he did, even if his motives were good.

Clam Jam is an awesome read with all the great pieces to a great romance novel!

“Ryland James!” I bang on his bathroom door, hollering loudly. “Did you eat the last—”The door swings open, drawing my speech to a sudden halt because … ooooh, sweet, dripping wet abs.

My eyes are riveted.

He’s got a towel wrapped around his waist, and I don’t even realize I’m moving until Ry releases a sharp hiss at my touch. Because my finger is tracing over the slight indentations in his abdominal muscles.

“Um …” He clears his throat, his voice husky and deep. “Mags?”

“Uh-huh,” I murmur absently, my fingertip stopping one of the trickling droplets of water on his skin, tracing it down over his belly button, and—

His fingers grasp my wrist, drawing my hand to a halt, and my eyes dart up to his in alarm because crap. That was like an out-of-body experience.

“Oh, crap. I’m sorry. I just really, um … crap.” That’s all I can utter. Nonsense. No one would believe I have my graduate degree if they heard me right now.

If my tongue had a voice of its own, it would probably say something like, “Just the tip. That’s all I want.” The tip of my tongue tracing over Ry’s abs, that is. You know, just to prove someone Photoshopped him. Or not.

Because I’ll take one for the team. I’m a giver like that. People might even think of canonizing me as a saint after all this. Really.

Oh, and then … Abracadabra! Poof! He’d no longer be gay, profess his undying love for me, and wouldn’t ever leave me for another guy.

Or woman.

Wow. That scenario even sounds crazy in my head.

Shaking off my thoughts, I take one more glance down at his abs—just one more glance—and that’s when I see it.

“Oh, boy,” I breathe out. Ry is hard, tenting the towel, and I really want it to drop. Accidentally, of course. Like an “oops” moment. Totally harmless and innocent.

Oh. My. God. I’m a horrible person. I’m thinking of my roommate’s penis! My roommate who has quickly become one of my best friends.

Oh, the shame!

Where did this inner slut come from? It’s like she’s been lying in wait—for him, apparently.

But, really. I can take a little peek, right?

New Release: Sylvie & Shandor by Sunniva Dee & Alyson Santos

Rocker Shenanigans: Sylvie + Shandor
Alyson Santos & Sunniva Dee
Publication date: December 19th 2016
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance

They rock hard, play hard, and live life freaking hard. So when it comes to love it’s no surprise they screw up just as hard. Join an amusing cast of characters from Sunniva Dee’s and Alyson Santos’ rock star novels as they meet and pursue each other amidst the backstage chaos of their world.

Rocker Shenanigans is a romantic comedy series of novellas that will toss you into the fun, sexy, and hilarious side of rocker life.

Rocker Shenanigans I:

Sylvie Drake is ecstatic when her rock-goddess sister invites her to a charity event in the Bahamas. With a lineup featuring legends like Night Shifts Black, Clown Irruption, and Tracing Holland, how could this weekend not be totally epic?

One word: Shandor.

Smoldering gaze, cocky smile, and passionate hands that dominate a guitar. Everything about this mysterious stranger screams out-of-her-league.

Shandor Xodyar is here to work. And keep his fiery cousin out of trouble with the threat of former flames breathing down their necks. What he didn’t count on is a three-word bombshell disrupting his mission:

Holland’s teen sister.

Unassumingly sexy, raw, and barely legal, there’s no way entertaining the forbidden electricity can end well.

Then again, some ignored warnings are worth the consequences.

Goodreads / Amazon

I swear his eyes grazed mine before they dismissed me because I’m not famous. Not my sister. But gosh, I want to change his mind. Have to.

I do a quick scan to test my conclusions, but no, only the old cougar with the scandalous miniskirt could have been the other recipient of that smoldering message. Maybe she… no. No! I know nothing about that overload of hotness except he doesn’t need a desperate grandmother to feed his ego. Okay, I don’t know that. Sometimes you just have to have faith, right?

I can’t tell if he wants me to approach or stay the hell away, but I don’t have a choice when the paralysis wears off and my bare legs start guiding me toward his loose-cut jeans. Jeans that hide… I blush. I don’t usually worry about what could be going on in a guy’s jeans.

Say something, Sylvie. And not about his pants.

“I like your guitar.” Ugh! WTH?! I might as well have said I liked his subscription to Time Magazine.

He just stares at me for a moment, and I’m praying that slight slip in his expression is because he didn’t hear me.

“Uh, thanks.”

He’s so not grateful for my praise, but I can’t stop now that I have his attention. I find myself rising on my toes, hoping the slim muscles in my toned thighs are making a pretty picture beneath my tiny shredded shorts. Yes, it’s December. It’s also the Bahamas at a resort that promised a buffet of hot rockers. Funny, I suddenly only notice one. And he needs to notice me.

“I’m Sylvie Drake,” I continue, even though I know that means nothing to him. “My sister is Holland Drake.”

I shoot a thumb toward the opposite corner where my dear sibling is… hanging on Luke. If Luke, then Casey. Thank you grade-nine Algebra, and I’m suddenly annoyed I never got that promised text from Holland. Then again, since my attention zeroed in on this inferno, I haven’t noticed much else. My phone could be replacing the moons of Jupiter with all its flashing and I wouldn’t know it.

“Hi, Sylvia.”

His brows knit because that’s what he said, except he didn’t. Still, I don’t know how to correct him with him looking at me like that. Even slanted in confusion, I feel the intensity of those golden embers shaded by dark lashes. Darnit, I’m Sylvia. It’s fine. I can be Sylvia because he’s… my body doesn’t need words as it answers his piercing concentration with all kinds of adult stuff. Holland would kill me if she knew what was going through my head. So much worse than gin and tonics. So much tastier. Tastier? Too adult. The lady with the miniskirt thinks he’s “tasty.” I think he’s… crap. I suck at this. What would Holland say?

“What key are you playing in?”

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

“Hang on.” Cheryl slipped a silver flask from the bustle of her bridesmaid dress. “This is cause for celebration. We don’t get to cheer on one of our own all that often. We’re always stuck buying fancy presents for the girls getting married who we don’t care that much about because we know they don’t care that much about us, either.”

“Here, here!” Joan said as Cheryl took a shot from the flask.

“And then,” Cheryl said and wiped her mouth on her sleeve, “those bitches complain behind our backs, but we always find out about it through the royal grapevine, that we should have bought them a pricier item on their registry. So here’s to our Lucy, who we care about, who would never say bitchy things behind our backs.”

“I’ll say them straight to your face.”

“That’s one of the reasons I like you. Here’s to Lucy’s wedding day.” She slugged back a shot and handed it to Joan. “May it be everything you ever dreamed and more.”

“Cheers!” Joan knocked back a shot and handed it to Alida.

“Salute!” She took a sip, grimaced, and passed it to Mr. Philips who took a quick sip.

“Nicely done, ladies. Prince Harry’s Private Reserve?”

Cheryl nodded. “I don’t skimp for weddings.”

“You don’t skimp for anything.” Esmeralda took the flask from Philips and downed a shot, then dabbed a little behind her ears and on her cleavage. “One of the reasons I like you.”

“You’re wasting good liquor,” Mr. Philips said.

“I prefer to think it’s an investment. The scent of Prince Harry’s Private Reserve is practically an aphrodisiac for any titled man at a wedding reception,” she said and passed the flask to me. “I’m tragically single, you know.”

“Not so tragic,” Cheryl said. “You told me you never wanted to get married.”

Esmeralda put her finger to her lips. “Shh!”

“No thanks on the shot.” I shook my head. “The Champagne finally wore off. I’m only getting married—for real—once. I’m not walking down the aisle tipsy, let alone with scotch on my breath.”

“But you have to,” Cheryl said. “It’s tradition.”

“Not where I’m from.” I grabbed a bottle of Fredonia Mineral Water, raised it high in the air, and toasted my Ladies-in-Waiting and the boys. “Cheers!” I took a healthy slug.

“Dios mio!” Alida exclaimed.

“Merde!” Joan said.

“Crap!” Esmeralda leapt toward me and knocked the bottle out of my hands. It flew across the room, splattered Mr. Philips tuxedo trousers and landed open-mouthed on his shoe as it poured out.

He stared down at it and sighed.

“Why’d you do that?” I asked.

Alida crossed herself. “Don’t you know, Lucy?”

Cheryl’s face turned ashen. “It’s terrible luck to toast with water.”

“That’s just an old wives tale,” I said and waved my hand at them. “Go forth and march down that aisle now because I am finally getting married. My worries are over. Does anyone have any chocolate? I’m a little lightheaded. Probably my low blood sugar. I’m good. I’m ready. Besides, what could possibly go wrong?”

Publication date: November 28th 2016
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance, Science Fiction

Daisy Kirkwood and her best friend Kammie have adjusted to life on an alien planet pretty well, all things considered. And thanks to Daisy’s alien pop star boyfriend, Griffin Valentino, she has plenty of sexy new experiences to keep her busy. But it’s not possible to take a massive music nerd away from her home planet and not expect her to pine for a concert or a record store at least in once in a while.

Heading back to Earth with Griffin and his best friend Dev for a brief but much-needed visit, the girls want nothing more than to catch up on the underground music scene of New York City. Unfortunately, thanks to Griffin’s less-than-stellar space traveling skills, they accidentally pick up a hitchhiker. Or three hundred. Their many-legged stowaway beasties take up residence in the darkest, creepiest corners of Manhattan, leaving the gang no choice but to experience a very different underground than they bargained for.

Giant alien bugs aside, Griffin has some epic plans of his own for their trip, plans that involve a concert, an album… and the most outrageous marriage proposal that Earth has ever seen.

My boyfriend is levitating four inches above our bed, with a cloud of gold sparks floating around his head like a crown. This makes for a pretty normal morning, even with the soft snuffling and clicking noises he makes as he sleeps. And the crown is appropriate, since my boyfriend is an alien prince.

The alien prince in question, Griffin, floats back down to our bed with a yawn, stretching as he hits the blankets. He squirms around until he can slip under the blankets and wriggle closer to me. Despite sleeping uncovered, he’s toasty and warm, a sign of restorative sleep in his people. I return his embrace a bit too eagerly, my hands slipping under his nightshirt and causing him to gasp out loud. “Gods! Daisy, your hands are cold.”

“They’re not cold. They’re room temperature. But you feel nice and warm, so hold still.”

Griffin wriggles a bit more in feigned protest, but we soon settle into a comfortable position, arms and legs entwined.

“Are you excited to go back home?” Griffin asks, his voice husky with sleep as he leans up to nip at my earlobe with sharp teeth. His glowing blue eyes peer at me from under heavy lids and dark lashes, lashes that are unfairly longer than my own.

“If you keep biting my ear or looking at me like that, I’m not going to be able to go back to sleep. And yes. I’m very excited to go back to Earth.”

“Well then, don’t go back to sleep,” Griffin says, running a hand over his recently shorn dark hair. It’s always amazing to me how he can go from sleepy animal cute to dangerously sexy alien rock star in the span of seconds, depending on what he’s doing or saying. That kind of magical ability can get an Earth girl in trouble. “I have much better ideas for what we can do this morning, Wanda…”

Wanda is his pet name for me, a word in his language that means, “Love without end.” Griffin knows very well what he does to me when he calls me that.

“Do these plans involve you miraculously making chocolate appear? I miss chocolate,” I say, in a teasing tone. “When we go back to Earth, I’m going to stock up on junk food. There’s only so much healthy gray goop a girl can eat before she starts to feel like a very deprived post-divorce Gwyneth Paltrow.”

“Chocolate? Don’t be daft, Daisy, I was referring to sex.”

New Release! 4 Stars for That Was The Year by Jenny Bravo

Title: That Was The Year
Series: Moments #2
Author: Jenny Bravo
Release Date: Nov 22, 2016

People don’t belong to people.

Reese Weller has lived by this mantra since she turned ten, and it’s never made more sense than at this moment.

With her best friend Wendy out of state, and her sometimes-best-friend Vivian married, Reese is left alone in the single world… and she’s about to crash and burn.

Enter Liam Blake. The boy she pushed away. The one person she may actually need to need right now. The only problem? She’s the last person he wants to see.

In a world where Reese and everyone she knows hurts, That Was the Year asks the big questions:
Can people learn to forgive?
Can two people, lonely and lost, find peace in each other?
And most importantly, how?
Captured in a whirlwind year of Reese Weller’s chaotic life, the follow-up novel to These Are the Moments will have you flipping pages all night long.
My Review:

4/5 Stars!!!

I have never read a more frenetic novel…ever!  I will be honest.  I stopped and started the book four times before I finally took time to get into it and when I did…it was so much fun!  I realized about halfway through the book that I might have been this girl when I was in my early twenties.  I hope not, because Reese is a hot mess!

I laughed.  I cringed.  I even cried a little at one point.  But, most of all, I am so happy I read this.  It is a fun ride for sure!

She knew this bed.
Or, at least, she thought she did.
Waking up, Reese felt like she was prying her eyes open from a coma, the lids heavier than they’d ever been in her life, her head aching in a way that felt less like a migraine and more like an axe through her skull. She willed herself to pick up her head. She insisted that she open her eyes.
That’s when she remembered the alcohol. And as soon as she remembered it, she felt it. Sloshing around in the pit of her stomach like a fish in its bowl.
She remembered the party. Her party. Turning twenty-six had been a pretty big deal, so throwing the party had been a pretty big deal, too. Bottles had filled the trash can. Shots had caked their throats. And God, had they thrown them back.
Open your eyes, Reese, she told herself. Open your stupid, alcoholic eyes.
And by some miracle, her left pupil graced the world again.
But this was not her room.
That was not her vintage dresser.
That was not her rose-colored wall.
Lift your head, Reese. Lift your morally-questionable head.
Again, the pep talk worked. Slowly and painfully, she dragged her body upright, which was covered up by a fluffy gray comforter that was also, coincidentally, not hers.
This was not her room, but she did know it. She knew the sheer, golden curtains. She knew the ornate mirror next to the closet door.
This was Sophie’s room.
If she was here, then where was Sophie?
“What the—”
That’s when she saw him. Beside her, a tan back with broad, man shoulders tucked into the comforter beside her. A nest of black hair on his head and beneath his armpits. And he was snoring, she noticed now, lightly.
Holy shit,” she whispered. She could save this. If she acted fast. She placed her hands on his skin, very tentatively, shaking him awake. “Lane. Lane, get up. Lane—”
He didn’t get up.
So, she decided to bolt.
If she could just find her clothes.
Scattered around Sophie’s room, her clothes fell like evidence. She tugged her pants over her legs, shoving her underwear into her pocket. She slipped the shirt over her head, her bra nowhere to be found. Probably under the bed. She’d need to get it later.
Get out, get out, get out.
Reese opened the door.
And Sophie did, too.
Sophie’s face, normally sunny and disgustingly kind, had a warranted look of confusion caked over it.
Reese thought fast. “Morning! Man, what a night, huh?”
“What the… did you two…” Sophie connected the dots, seeing her boyfriend lying naked in the bed. Then yelled, “LANE!”
“Sophie, it’s not what you think,” Reese said.
Because really, who knew for sure?
Yes, Reese had been naked in bed with Sophie’s boyfriend.
Yes, they’d both consumed enough alcohol to stock a liquor store.
But did that necessarily mean that Reese had hooked up with Lane? No, it did not.
Lane sat up. “Oh my God, Sophie.”
“Let’s all just take a breath here,” Reese said.
She hadn’t seen it coming.
She hadn’t seen the fist until it connected with her face.
She hadn’t seen the punch until she felt the sting of her cheek.
Get out of my house!” Sophie yelled again.
Reese pressed her hand against her cheek, buckled over, not knowing if Sophie was yelling at her or Lane.
“Okay, okay,” Reese said, backing up, surrendering. “I’m just going to go to my room and—”
Get out, get out, get out!”
That one was definitely directed at Reese. “What about him? He cheated on you, not me.”
The fire in Sophie’s eyes could burn a village.
Reese ducked the next swing of Sophie’s arm, and charged into the living room and out of the house, calling back, “Okay, but I want my bra back!”
Wendy answered the phone on the first ring. “What’s the damage?”
“Well, I screwed up. And it’s all your fault. Where did you go last night?”
Driving away, Reese knew that she’d crossed more lines than normal. She could feel the faintest bit of guilt settling into her stomach.
Sophie’s my friend, she thought. She’s my friend… right?
“I’m at Vivian’s,” Wendy said. “Are we talking bail-me-out-of-jail bad or pregnancy-test bad?”
Reese gritted her teeth. “That is one messed up scale. You see, what happened is—”
Reese didn’t sugarcoat it.
She spread out every detail like food at a picnic.
This always went the same way: Reese would tell her story and Wendy wouldn’t judge. That’s why Reese loved her. Wendy always listened intently before she doled out her advice. Sometimes, Reese would even take it.
“Oh God,” Wendy said. “You really did screw up.”
“Ya think? Now, I’m kicked out of my place in last night’s clothes and all I want in this world is a mountain of ice cream. Or maybe a breakfast taco. I’m too exhausted to decipher my own taste buds.”
“Here’s what you’re going to do. You’re not going to like it.”
Reese tapped her foot on the brake, crawling to a stop at the red light. “I swear to God if you tell me to come to Vivian’s—”
“You need a place to crash. Plus, I’m here until tomorrow. We can have a good old fashioned slumber party.”
Reese was almost sold. “Just let me get through this work day first.”
They were filing soon.
And she was already so late.
Not to mention un-showered.
“Hey, it’s better than your mom’s house,” Wendy reasoned.
“I hate it when you make sense,” Reese said, groaning.
Reese let her head fall against the steering wheel.
She’d completely forgotten about her family birthday dinner tonight.
“Okay, I’ll see you tonight after my birthday dinner from hell,” Reese said, sighing. “I’ll be the one with the melodrama.”
“See you later, little home-wrecker.”
Out of all the bad things Reese had done, which was a rapidly growing list, somewhere near Bible-length at this point, sleeping with another girl’s boyfriend had never been one of them.
And it kind of made her sick.
More accurately? It made her sick how much it didn’t make her sick.

So, I’m no longer a virgin sex columnist—thank you, Ollie—but if I thought that was going to make my life easier, boy was I wrong! John is back in town determined to win my forgiveness. Blythe is more ready than ever to take me down. Bridget is totally onto the new twinkle in my eye. And, well, Ollie is just as distractingly delicious as usual.

So, naturally, I have a few more confessions to make.

Confession #1: I came up with what I thought would be the perfect plan to keep my relationship with Ollie a secret—pretend to get back together with John!

Confession #2: It backfired. A lot.

Sequel to:

Meet Skylar Quinn!

Name: Skylar Quinn – Skye to her friends, and well, anyone else who wants!

Occupation: Newspaper assistant and reluctant sex columnist…

Who Is She? Skylar is the main character of Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! —the story is told in her first person narration. She’s a virgin, a sex columnist, and is, well, pretty much totally anxious about the whole thing. Throw in the secret crush on her best friend’s brother, who also happens to be her new roommate, and you might understand her frequent heart palpitations

Loves: Ollie! No, wait…she used to. She still does? Well, you guys can decide because Skye and I sure can’t! Other loves include coffee, desserts, sugary things in general, reading by the windowsill while it rains, cheesy love scenes, and writing of course—especially when said writing doesn’t include fabricating sexual scenarios for her column.

Hates: High heels, hitting on guys, the never-ending embarrassing moments that seem to plague her life, lying in general (yeah, I see the irony here), and, what did I forget? Oh, right. Ollie!

Guilty Pleasures: Reality television binge watching sessions with Bridget, and, um, secretly watching Ollie flex his biceps out of the corner of her eye!
