My Review:

4.5 stars!

Picking up right after the events that ended The Bandit, The Knight brings us the exciting and deliciously dark finale to the Stolen Duet!

In true B. B. Reid style, this book is edge-of-your-seat twisted.  Mian has learned nothing and Angel is determined to prove to Mian that she really is free.  He has debts to pay and he is determined to make things right with Mian.  Angel is still the scary, brooding and intense, but we get to see a softer side to him that only Mian can bring out.  Mian was a bit harder to take at times.  She is untrusting and rightfully so, but darn that girl made some dumb decisions.

In an ending that was truly fitting of Mian and Angeles, I sighed a happy sigh as I finished out their story.  You have to read this!

Author Bio
B.B., ALSO KNOWN as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother’s closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way.

Bebe is fresh out of undergrad college and has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion.

She favors a romance that isn’t always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow–characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway.

Fear Me, her debut novel, is the first of many.

B. B. Reid, the queen of the dark romance, is back with another book you just have to read!

The Bandit brings us a new set of characters that are despicable but you can’t help but love them. Set in the Chicago Underworld, The Bandit is the story of Angel, the soon-to-be leader of The Knights, a storied criminal enterprise with a long history, and Mian, a down-on-her-luck young mother who is fighting to keep her son and herself alive. There is a history between Angel and Mian and oh is it deliciously complicated in the way only Reid can write.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. There is danger and intrigue, a murder mystery, kidnapping, more kidnapping, and some seriously steamy scenes. While in Reid’s other series, the sex is blatant and plentiful, in The Bandit, it is more of a tease for most of the book and it is hot…steamy, hot, sexy goodness. The feud between Angel and Mian is deeply rooted and these two have so many misunderstandings that they will have your head spinning. I swear I yelled at the book, no joke. I believe it went something like this…”if you two would just talk to each other this whole thing could have been avoided.” But, I was wrong. So wrong. Then the ending happened…

So, this was supposed to be a standalone, but lucky us we get more and I can’t frikkin’ wait!!

Review: Fear Us by B. B. Reid

Title:  Fear Us

Series: Broken Love – Book 3

Author: B. B. Reid

Pages:  252 pages

Rating:  4.5/5 stars

Synopsis:

KEENAN

It’s been four years since I ran away–from home, my brother, and my maybe father. I created a life free of expectations while pretending I wasn’t being hunted by all of the above. I managed to stay under the radar all this time… or so I thought. When big brother shows up and saves my ass, I’m forced to face everything I left behind, including her.

SHELDON

It’s been four years since I became another statistic. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to Keenan Masters. The first was loving him at all. He took something from me the night he left, and when I told him I still loved him, he told me he’d always hate me. After that, I learned how to be okay… until he came back. Gone was the boy who always knew how to make me laugh, and in his place was a cold, arrogant monster.

Review:

Not really sure what to say here…

While I believe you could read this as a standalone, I would not recommend it.  Read books 1 and 2.  There is so much backstory alluded to in this book that you really would miss out by not reading books 1 and 2.

In book three of the series, we are told Keenan’s story.  We were introduced to Keenan in books one and two as the funny and loyal younger brother to Keiran.  He was so different from Keiran.  Keenan had a heart of gold.  Then he was shot and betrayed in that order and he became a monster, a shell of his former self.

Fear Us tells Keenan and Sheldon’s (his long time girlfriend) story, or more accurately, their way back to each other.  It is dark and gritty and difficult to read at times.  If you don’t like a dark read where sex is used a power and punishment or a dominant/submissive (not in the traditional BDSM sense) then you may not like this book.  There is a happily ever after, sort of, but it sure is a hard ride to get there.

You may be wondering why I gave this 4.5 stars, well I’m somewhat invested in these characters and this series and truly this is the best book yet.  Think Penelope Douglas’s Fall Away series on crack.
