Wicked Wedding, an all-new sexy standalone novel, from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett is available NOW!

WickedWeddingCoverBW

It all started with a wedding…

Well, three weddings, to be exact. The one that happened, the one that went up in flames, and the one nobody saw coming.

Andrew Collings has seen a lot of things living in Vegas. Hell, he’s done a lot of things. But one thing he’s never witnessed is a beautiful brunette, hitchhiking her way into the city, wearing a wedding dress. Until now, that is.

Brynne Adams is running away from a broken heart. She expected a lot of things from her wedding day but finding photos of her fiancé and maid of honor and best man in a compromising position wasn’t one of them. She most certainly never imagined that she’d end up marrying the handsome stranger that rescued her from the side of the road that day.

Andrew and Brynne’s quick nuptials may have been the result of a drunken joke, but they soon realize that love can be found in the most unlikely of places if you just stop and take a chance.

* Wicked Wedding is the fourth STANDALONE NOVEL in the LEFT AT THE ALTAR series in a collaboration of six New York Times Bestselling Authors: J. S. Scott, Ruth Cardello, Raine Miller, Sawyer Bennett, Minx Malone, and Melody Anne.

4 Stars!

What a great read!!!

Let me start this off by telling you that this takes place in the Vegas in the shadow of The Wicked Horse, but no scenes take place in the actual club. So, if you are expecting that, it isn’t a part of the book. This book is actually part of a different series.

If you read Wicked Envy, you will remember Andrew and one third of the Andrew/Dane/Avril trio. Andrew gets his own HEA in this clever book. Andrew and Brynne are absolutely fabulous characters! They meet under interesting circumstances, make a snap decision and then grow to love each other, slowly… sort of. I loved the dynamics between Andrew and Brynne and between Andrew, Brynne, Avril and Dane. I enjoyed that Bennett left the conflict to what it was without embellishing it with a lot of other interference.

Still the same sexy heat we’ve come to love from Bennett, if not a little tamer here. Great characters and a great story!

Excerpt:

“Let me prop the door open and I’ll carry you over the threshold,” I tell Brynne as I press the keycard against the magnetic reader.

She giggles, a sound I normally find grating on a grown woman, but on Brynne it’s charming. Her cheeks are flushed, and her eyes are still sparkling with energy.“Well, you are very Thor-like, so a girl would be crazy to refuse to be carried over the threshold by her husband.”

That’s right. I’m her husband, but let’s rewind just a bit to detail how this all went down.

It took me exactly fifteen minutes and three phone calls to set things up, just as I promised her.

The first call was to the nicest, swankiest Vegas chapel that I could find with a Google search. I was advised we’d have to obtain a license at the Las Vegas Marriage Bureau for the low price of seventy-five dollars, and I wasn’t surprised in the least to learn it was open twenty-four hours a day on the weekends. I was able to arrange a limousine to pick us up, as well as an explosion of flowers within the chapel itself. When I gave my credit card number to the woman, I told her to go crazy on decor, but I specifically requested white calla lilies for the bride bouquet because Brynne told me those were her favorites.

The second call was to a jeweler where I was able to purchase two very simple wedding bands in gold. It’s a detail I probably could have ignored considering we both knew this was just for fun, but fuck it. I’m rich, which means I have the ability to make this as nice as I can for Brynne.

The third call was to my attorney, who explained annulment laws and assured me it was a fairly straightforward process. I’d have to institute the action—called a complaint—and if Brynne waives service, we can present our annulment request to the court to be approved after twenty days. It wasn’t immediate, but twenty days was nothing in the grand scheme of things.

By the time we took a limo to the marriage bureau, stood in line for about thirty minutes with other like minded folks, and then made our way to the chapel, we’d sobered up quite a bit.

“You sure you want to do this?” she asked me just before we went in.“I mean… it was a fun notion when we were a little more buzzed.”

“Hell yes,” I’d told her with a devilish grin.“Mostly so we can send a picture to the whore and the asshole.”

Her laugh was sparkling and beautiful and just a little evil, which made her infinitely more attractive to me.“It’s all in good fun with no risk,” I’d added on to assure her.

So we went in, both of us grinning like fools during the ceremony. It felt fake, because it was fake, but in some respects, it’s the most real thing I’ve ever done. Because what we were doing had real purpose. It was to give Brynne and her glorious wedding dress a moment to shine.

It became even more real when the minister—who was not dressed like Elvis, but was very dapper in a dark gray suit with an old-fashioned cravat tied at his neck—told us in a very cultured voice,“You may kiss the bride.”

Fuck.

I hadn’t thought about the kiss.

I mean, I’d thought of kissing her because she’s sexy and vibrant and smiling despite the fact she was shit on hard today. But I hadn’t thought about the“wedding kiss”. Because even though this is all fake, somehow a man giving us formal permission to put our mouths together to seal our marriage vows makes it very fucking real.

There was no hesitation. When my lips touched hers and she gave a tiny huff of pleasure, I realized I wanted to consummate this fake marriage very badly.

I did not, however, know if Brynne felt the same. Because today would probably go down as the worst and weirdest of her life, I wasn’t going to push. Instead, I took her out for a radically expensive late dinner and then we hit a popular jazz club where we listened to music.

And then it happened.

A slow song was played. A bluesy number people just sort of sway to, and I asked her to dance with me.

She accepted.

It was Brynne who kissed me. Slid her delicate fingers into my hair, went to her tiptoes in her gray tennis shoes with teal-blue accents, and pressed her mouth to mine. My mind reeled, and my cock started to twitch to attention as we swayed and kissed. The words were forming in my mind on how best to invite her into my bed without sounding like an opportunistic douche, but then it didn’t matter.

She pulled her mouth from mine, relaxing and tipping her head back to see me.“If we have sex tonight, does that ruin our chances of getting an annulment?”

I had no fucking clue what the answer was. It had never crossed my mind I might actually get the chance to fuck her, so I didn’t ask my attorney.

“Not that I know of,” I hedge. At least I didn’t flat-out lie to her.

“Good,” she said with a smile.“Let’s go to my hotel room.”

About FORTUNATE ENCOUNTERS

Sitting at the wrong table turned my life upside down.

I was supposed to be on a date with one man but made a huge mistake—a mistake I keep bumping into all over New York City.

Clark Chambers is arrogant, straightforward, devastatingly handsome, and takes what he wants. And right now his sight is set on me.

But he only wants friends with benefits. And I’d rather eat dirt than agree to that.

After an “enough is enough” moment, I turn to the Universe for help & ask for a special sign.

And it’s just my luck … looks like rabbits & romance really do mix!

Quesarasera Book Blog Review

3.5 Stars!!

I enjoyed this fun rom com read.

Juliette accidentally sits at the wrong table while on a blind date and mistakes Clark for her date. Through a series of “Fortunate Encounters” the two slow but surely move toward a HEA.

I liked the book. It was a fun concept and an easy read. The characters were likable, mostly. Clark was a little to jerky for me. I get was the author was going for with him, but I couldn’t decide if he was a wealthy butthole or a frat boy with an attitude. Juliette was great. She was true to form from start to finish. I felt the writing was a little basic and that Passarelli could have beefed up the story a bit more.

Overall, a good read, but it left me want a little more. (I wanted the I love you moment!)

Jax

I’m a virgin, but I don’t want to be. I just want to get it over with, so I made a list. I held interviews. (I know, I’m a total Type A.) The winner is Sebastian Rathbone. Grade A Beefcake who plays defense for the Grizzlies’ Rugby team. Manwhore extraordinaire. So basically, a professional. The problem? My best friend, Matt. For some reason, he wanted me to pick him. I’d never choose him because then I’d fall in love and I remember the hell that was middle school. Now that he’s grown into his head and feet, and he is by definition also Grade A Beefcake, there’s even less chance he’d ever feel more than friendship for me. Why put myself through that? I thought I’d locked all of that away until a game of Spin the Bottle makes me doubt everything. Especially the lie I’ve been telling myself about not being in love with my best friend.

Matt

Sebastian Rathbone? Dude. No way. He’s not a bad guy, but he’s not the guy for Jax. If anyone knows the guy for Jax, that’s me. It hurts I wasn’t even consulted. Actually, what bothers me the most is that she didn’t ask me to be the one. To punch her V-Card, I mean. I’m pretty good at what I do, or so I’ve been told. It should be a good memory. Something special. And lemme tell you, Rathboner isn’t going to make it special for anyone. I don’t like it that there’s this part of her she’s going to give to someone else, but I guess I have to get right with it. I’m the best friend. Not the lover. Except when faced with losing her, I’ll have to take a spin on chance just one more time.

Quesarasera Book Blog Review

3.5 Stars!

A friends to lovers romance. I was a little disappointed in this one. The first book in the series was edgy and kind of deep. Spin the Bottle was mostly sex and much less story.

Jax and Matt and Bastian are all friends. Matt and Jax are best friends. Jax is a virgin and she wants to lose her virginity. Can you see where this is going? I appreciate the pan- and bi-sexual relationships and I thought they were done very well, but that doesn’t forgive the fact that the book would fall apart without the sex. Don’t get me wrong, the sex is hot but not super gratuitous. If you haven’t read the first book, then let me tell you, this group of friends is quite twisted. I guess I just thought Wylde could have done more with the relationship between Jax and Matt.

Overall, a pretty good read, but just didn’t sit with me as well as book one.

The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.
*********************************************
They say you never forget your first time.
Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge.
He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head.
He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.
I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.
Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.
You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.
I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.
He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
And hoping.
Again.

Carian Cole hits me where it hurts with her beautiful, romantic books! This emotional read just slayed me!

Cole tackles a lot of tough topics in No Tomorrow including mental health and drug abuse. These could be triggers for some, so beware.

(Mental health and drug use are heavy topics that I take very seriously. I am not easy on an author when they choose to use these plot devices. Please know that Carian Cole took great care not to make light of these issues. I commend her for that.)

This book is incredibly long, but every word is important to the progress of the story. Coles words are emotional, raw and sometimes not easy to read. She gives us two amazing MCs in Piper and Blue. It spans over several years, starting when Piper is 21 and then skips 10 years. I laughed, cried, got angry, swooned, forgave and loved as I read this beautiful story. Piper and Blue’s story sucked me in and wouldn’t let go. Once I was finally finished, I sat quietly and just was. I wanted to read it again, but I wasn’t sure my heart could take an immediate re-read. I almost NEVER re-read books, but this one was just that good.

A story of love lost and found, No Tomorrow is an amazing read!

I am so in love with this series, this book! Josie and Cole are back with a second chance at love. They are finally reunited after 10 years and those big feelings are still there. Their story is beautiful and heart-breaking and just so much of everything! I can’t even begin to describe the range of emotions I went through while reading If We Fly. This book, this series is so amazing!

While I’ll take Josie wherever I can get her, I’d rather be with her at the cottage than anywhere else. Reminds me of our cramped apartment where we were always bumping into each other and never had enough room.

As both a girl and an artist, Josie came with stuff. Hair bands. Fuzzy socks. Premium pastels. A thousand tubes of lip balm. I loved her stuff because I loved her. But I’d also been baffled by her inability to hang up a sweatshirt.

Her cottage isn’t any neater, which is just one reason I like it there. She doesn’t answer my knock. I unlock the door and let myself in.

She’s sprawled on the bed in the sunroom, her body moving with quick, shallow breaths indicating a restless sleep. One shapely legs rests over a pillow, and her T-shirt is pulled up far enough to reveal the curve of her ass encased in panties printed with purple butterflies.

Much as I love the sight of her, I dislike like her insomnia, the way she sleeps in fits and starts. Though I haven’t seen evidence of a nightmare, that doesn’t mean she’s not still having them. And going back to the accident site…

My chest tightens. I sit in a chair by the window and rub a hand over the back of my neck.

Two weeks. That’s it. Then she’s gone. After that…hell, you don’t have to think about after. You just need to make sure the truth stays locked down. That means keeping her away from Peterson and any reminders.

Or taking her away.

A roll of half-opened Lifesavers rests on the windowsill. Peeling it open, I find a red one and stick it in my mouth. Sugar and cherry spill over my tongue.

“You’re going to pay for that.” Her sleep-husky voice draws my attention.

She’s watching me, her arms around a pillow.

“I’ll share.” I push to my feet.

“You’d better.”

After crossing the room in three strides, I sink onto the bed beside her and lower my mouth to hers. Though I had every intention of talking to her first, her kiss fires me with heat. The tension in my chest loosens. I brush her silky hair back from her face and slide my hand over her cheek. Breathe in her strawberry smell. My unease slides away, overpowered by her soft sweetness.

She flicks her tongue into my mouth and over the cherry candy. After passing it to her, I lower her back onto the bed. My dick is already getting hard. I cup her breasts and rub my thumbs over her nipples, urging them to tighten. Josie sighs and shifts, hooking her legs around my thighs and wiggling her hips against me.

“You need to stop wearing jeans when you’re here.” She pushes me away and rises up to unbutton my jeans and shove them off. “Makes it hard for this spontaneous sex thing we’ve got going on.”

“I’m always hard for this spontaneous sex thing.” I shed my clothes before climbing on top of her again. Nuzzling my nose into her neck, I lick the hot hollow of her throat. I fucking love that tender little spot where her pulse beats so fast.

I inch my hand up her shirt, pulling it up far enough to expose her breasts, her pink nipples sticking straight up. The sight of her naked body jerks my cock into full hardness. Josie breathes out a moan and grasps my dick.

“God, Cole.” She shifts, urging me closer and parting her cherry-red lips. “Put it in my mouth.”

“Not this time.” With effort, I detach her hand from me and bend to kiss her breasts, pulling her nipple into my mouth. Her groan of satisfaction fires my lust hotter. I slide my hand between her thigh and into her pussy. Ah, fuck, my girl is already wet and primed, like she’s been waiting for me.

Moving lower on the bed, I push her thighs open. She rises to her elbows, her eyes widening. “Cole…”

When we first got together, it had taken her a long time to let me go down on her. No matter how aroused she was or how careful I was, she’d tense up and get self-conscious about being so exposed. But we’d both persisted, and I’d started with gentle licks of my tongue that soon had her panting and pumping her hips. And when she came…more than once, I’d been unable to hold back and ended up shooting my load all over the bedsheets.

That’s not happening this time.

I love this series! Jami Davenport just does hockey romances so well and Shot On Goal is a great addition to this series. Drew and Marina are two broken, damaged souls who find peace and love in each other. They are the perfect match with a deep connection and off-the-charts chemistry. I felt their struggles as I read the book. I felt that moment of relief when things finally worked out for them.

This is such a great series and Shot On Goal is a winning read!

4.5 Stars!

There is nothing timid about Devney Perry’s latest book, besides the main character, Willa. Perry continues to amaze me with her writing style, flow and ability to weave a romantic tale.

Willa and Jackson will captivate you. Their story is sweet and sexy with a few twists. The thing that makes this book is that this is more than just a romance that is pure and organic. It doesn’t force, it flows. Then, There are the added elements of suspense that give it that little push.

Another consuming and captivating read from Perry!

I scooched my chair in toward the table, trying to put a little more space between Jackson and me, but he wasn’t having it.

He put both hands on the back of my chair, then leaned in close. “Hi, Willa.”

“Uh . . . hi.” I shivered at the heat from his chest on my bare shoulders.

Why was he standing so close? My parents were right there. Our table was one of four tall, square ones in the center of the room and there was plenty of space between tables.

Plenty. P-L-E-N-T-Y.

But was Jackson using any of that plentiful space?

No sirree. He stayed pressed against the back of my chair, like there were only three inches of usable space behind him, not three feet.

My skin prickled he was so close. I tried to nudge my chair forward again but it barely moved. Sweat beaded on my temples and I pulled in a shaking breath.

Jackson’s woodsy, rich scent was everywhere. It overpowered the stale beer, pizza and peanuts, and I inhaled a deep breath, unable to resist.

Sexy Hot Forest. That’s what they’d call his cologne.

New Release ~ 4 Stars for P. S. I Miss You by Winter Renshaw

Melrose,

The first time I met you, you were a stranger. The second time, you were my roommate. The third time, you made it clear you were about to become the biggest thorn my side had ever known.

You sing way too loud in the shower and use all the hot water.

You’re bossy as hell.

You make my life all kinds of complicated.

But no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop thinking about you.

And truthfully … I can’t stop wanting you.

I was going to tell you this. I was going to sit you down, swallow my pride, hang up my noncommittal ways and show you a side of me you nor anyone else has ever seen before … but then you dropped a game-changing bombshell; a confession so nuclear it stopped me in my tracks.

How I didn’t see this coming, I’ll never know.

Sutter

P.S. I miss you.

Remember Melrose from P. S. I Love You? Maritza’s quirky, actress cousin? Well, this is her book and I think you’re going to love it.

As a favor to her best friend, Nick, Melrose takes over his lease while he is gone on tour for six months. His roommate, Sutter, is none too pleased to have Melrose as his roommate. But, all that mutual dislike quickly boils over into mutual attraction. They may not like each other, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to bang. Of course, we all know once that starts, things change.

This one was sexy, but it was more sweet and emotional than about just the sexual attraction. You get one impression of Sutter and Melrose, but that impression changes over the course of the book as they each reveal more of themselves to the reader and each other. There are not a lot of secondary characters, so the story stays uncluttered, focusing on the relationship between M and S. I loved how the story progressed organically on the way to the HEA. However, I felt like the ending was rushed and while I’m usually a big fan of epilogues, this one just didn’t do it for me.

Another good romance from Winter Renshaw!

I’m standing outside Melrose’s door, two sweaty beer bottles under one arm as I knock.
“Go away, Sutter,” she calls, voice stuffy.
I knock again.
“Go. Away,” she says.
A third knock should do it. A fourth if I must. I’m not going anywhere tonight.
Seconds later, the door swings open with a hard pull and Melrose’s frown neutralizes when she sees the drinks in my hand.
“What’s this?” she asks.
“You look like you had a rough night.” I hand hers over, but she doesn’t accept it right away.
Her tired stare rests on my outstretched hand. “Why are you being so nice to me?”
“Weirding you out too, huh?”
I manage to get the smallest smile out of her. I think. It’s gone before I can be sure.
Finally taking my generous gift, Melrose raises her brows and takes a swig. “Guess not.”
“You want to talk about it?” I ask, hooking my hand behind my neck. I’m terrible at these kinds of things and I don’t like to talk for the sake of talking, but I’ve come this far.
“Is your girlfriend gone?” She ignores my question.
“Acquaintance. And yeah. I sent her home.”
“You did?” Her forehead crinkles, like she doesn’t believe it.
I nod. And I don’t believe it myself. I’ve never put sex on the back burner so I could comfort some crying chick.
“I need to let Murphy out.” Melrose scoops the wrinkly beast into her arms and treks downstairs, cutting through the living room and kitchen to get to the backyard.
I follow, stepping out to the patio and sliding the door closed behind me. Murphy trots off, disappearing somewhere in the dark yard, and Melrose takes a seat on one of the steps. The moonlight makes her shine almost, painting a glow onto her bronzed skin and silky hair.
“So … you’re okay then?” I ask, picking at the label on my bottle. It occurs to me that I still haven’t thanked her for folding my shirts the other day, but this doesn’t feel like the right time.
“You don’t have to do this,” she says.
“Do what?”
“Feel sorry for me,” she says, turning and glancing up. “I don’t need your pity.”
“I don’t feel sorry for you. I don’t even know what happened,” I say. “But judging by the way you were dressed when you came home … I’m thinking it had to do with some douche.”
“You were right, Sutter.” She picks at the label on her bottle. “I went out with Robert McCauley tonight.”
My chest tightens. I already know where this is going.

New Release ~ 3.75 Stars for Mess Me Up by Lani Lynn Vale

When Rome Pierce moved to Bear Bottom, Texas, it was his intention to lay low. To not be seen. To find a way to heal his body and soul—as well as his son’s.

Nobody would know by looking at him that he used to play professional football. Not with the Bare Bottom MC cut covering his back, and definitely not with his friendly smile completely obliterated.

No longer is there charm in each smooth word that comes out of his mouth. What’s left is an angry, bitter, scared man that’s terrified one day he’s going to wake up and his entire world is going to be gone.

Nobody knows what drove him to leave the game he loved—nobody but her.

She’s the one person that has helped him make it through the dark days and even darker nights. She’s the bright and shining star in his pitch-black sky.

And he doesn’t even know her name.

He should be afraid that she knows things that not anyone—not even his best friend—knows.

Yet, with each encounter, he gives what little bit of his soul remains, and before he knows it only two people on this earth—one dying, and one too afraid to live—make his life worth living.

Until one day he has to choose—the love of his life, or the life he brought into this world.

Two impossible situations. One decision that would change him forever.

I’m going to just start off with this… make sure you have a box of tissues near by, because this one is a tear jerker.

That being said, it was just okay for me. Why? Because I just didn’t connect with Isadora. I tried. I really did, but…

The story is definitely more than I was expecting from an MC romance. The story was deep and moving and sensitive. Rome broke my heart and I felt his hurt and pain. I appreciated Izzy’s response and support.

A good book, but I would have liked it better if I had connected with Izzy more.

4.5 Stars!

This is my favorite Kendall Ryan book to date! A sweet, sexy tale of friends to lovers.

Cam, Natalie and Jack have been friends since they were kids. The were a triple threat and managed to stay friends well into their late twenties. Cam and Jack made Natalie off limits all those years ago, but something changes between Cam and Natalie and suddenly, after they start seeing each other as more.

Friends to lover is a great trope to begin with. Cam and Natalie go through the usual emotions and questions about how taking things beyond friendship might ruin their important friendship, but then Ryan adds in the third friend, Jack, and things get a little stickier. Kendall Ryan’s writing is always good, but in this book it was just organic without a bunch of excess. There was no dark elements, no excessive outside interference. Kendall Ryan just went with the simple, tried and true formula of friends to lovers and gave us sexy, sweet goodness. Also, I just felt more connected to the characters and their story in FWF.

This a perfect weekend read!
