Sophie Darrow finds she was wrong about that assumption when she’s pulled into the spirit realm, complete with an Underworld, on her first day at college. Adrian, the mysterious young man who brought her there, simply wants her to taste a pomegranate. Soon, though she returns to her regular life, her mind begins exploding with dreams and memories of ancient times; of a love between two Greeks named Persephone and Hades. But lethal danger has always surrounded the immortals, and now that she’s tainted with the Underworld’s magic, that danger is drawing closer to Sophie. My Review:

Persephone’s Orchard is a sweetly, romantic retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone.

I loved studying Greek mythology back in high school. Did you?  Do they still learn about that these days?  I really hope so.  Persephone’s Orchard was a fun look at one of my favorite Greek myths.
Sophie/Persephone is just a regular, everyday college freshman until an odd encounter pulls her into a fantastical world of mythical beings and long-dead loved ones. Her guide on her journey is Adrian/Hades. Sophie has no idea she is Persephone, but Adrian knows Sophie is Persephone and that he has loved her for many lifetimes. But as the story goes…well, you’ll have to find out for yourself.
I loved the way Ringle retold the myth, paying careful attention to keep details of the myth intact while still adding her own spin to it.  The love story between Adrian/Hades and Sophie/Persephone takes center stage and I loved how Sophie rediscovered who she was without giving up who she is.  There is mystery and a little bit of danger to add just the right amount of excitement.

Persephone’s Orchard is the first in the Chrysomelia Stories series .  Book Two, The Underworld’s Daughter is also available.  Book three, Immortal’s Spring will be released on June 1, 2016.  Persephone’s Orchard is just $0.99 for the Kindle Version on here.
