Torch by Karen Erickson
Release Date: August 16th
Series: Wildwood #3
Tate Warren has never met a woman he couldn’t charm—until now.
Wren Gallagher won’t give him the time of day and it’s making him crazy.
But he won’t give up without a fight… because there’s one thing he knows for sure:
Enemies make the best lovers.
Most women swoon over Tate’s devilish grin and firefighter uniform. But Wren couldn’t be less impressed by his good looks and flirtatious banter—in fact, she seems to downright despise him. She thinks he’s a player, but his attraction to her is no game. Wren is unlike anyone he’s ever known and he isn’t about to let the feisty, gorgeous woman slip through his fingers.
Wooing Wren would be so much easier if she didn’t hate him…
Or does she?

I don’t very often give 5 stars. If I do, it’s because I feel the book is something special. I think Torch just had something different, special, good.
If you have not read the previous two books in the series, you don’t have too, they are all stand alones. However, I highly recommend reading them. Then go and grab yourself a copy of this book.
Briefly, Wren and Tate have a tenuous relationship. He loves to tease and flirt with her, make suggestive comments and drive her crazy. Wren gives as good as she gets and Tate does not get an inch with her.
Wren’s two best friends are happily in love with Wren’s two older brothers. Her younger brother is in love. She is the only single on in the group…besides Tate. After a chance meeting at the local bar one night, Wren finds it hard to fight her attraction to Tate.
So, here’s the thing. Wren is great. She is sassy, insecure, fun and she is one of the most realistic female characters I’ve read in a long time. She’s not perfect and she doesn’t try to be. Tate is almost too good to be true, but that’s okay, a book boyfriend is supposed to be near perfect.
If you have read my reviews of the previous books in the series, you would have read my mention of this pesky arsonist who has terrible timing. Well, his (or her) timing in this book was impeccably perfect. That’s all I’m going to give you on that, because I refuse to spoil. Suffice it to say, the arsonist is still on the loose, but I am ninety percent positive I have figured out who it is. You hear me, Karen Erickson! 🙂
Torch is my favorite of the the Wildwood series book. I love Tate and Wren. The story line is great and the writing is fantastic and real.
I highly recommend Torch!
