My Review:
4.5 Stars!
Man, I love the writing duo of Piper Rayne! I have been looking forward to this book and once again they did not disappoint!
This hilarious and sexy book is Lennon’s story! Lennon, as you may or may not know, has her very own sex toy company, but it still hasn’t quite taken off. She needs more capital. She needs a loan. Enter Jasper, The Banker. From the moment these two meet (again?) the sparks fly. Jasper just happens to be friends with Lennon’s brother. Yeah, yeah. I know what you’re thinking. Another brother’s friend trope, right? Yes… and no. I’ll let you figure that one out on your own.
Here’s the thing. I love Lennon! She is sassy and fun and devil may care, but under that she is this girl who just wants to be loved and accepted. Her family? Well, they kind of judgy and they peeved me off. Her brother? Well, I thought he was a jerk. She is supported and loved by her besties who are never surprised by her antics.
Jasper was… hmm, how do I say this? He wasn’t my favorite. In the beginning I liked him a lot. I saw that he was good for Lennon. Then, he just pissed me the heck off and for, in my opinion, the dumbest reason.
So, I didn’t love the hero, but I FLOVED the heroine and the book was fun, sexy and kept my attention. This is a great weekend read that should appeal to most anyone.
We aren’t trying to stamp ourselves with a top-secret label. We wanted to write without apology. We wanted to not be pigeon holed into a specific outline. We wanted to give readers a story without them assuming how the story will flow. Everyone has their favorite authors, right? And when you pick up their books, you expect something from them. Whether it’s an alpha male, heavy angst, a happily ever after, there’s something you are absolutely certain the book will contain. Heck, we’re readers, too, we get it.What can we tell you about ourselves? We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
