Wicked Bond (The Wicked Horse Series Book #5) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: September 13, 2016Synopsis: Bridger Payne is an enigma that no one can figure out. Wise beyond his years, eerily intuitive and sexy as hell, every woman in The Silo wants him. None can have him. Not the real man, anyway. He might wield the lash for you if you ask prettily, but he’ll get no gratification from it. He’ll definitely make you scream, but he won’t think twice about you when he walks away. Bridger carries the darkest of secrets. He’s filled with too much pain. He’s utterly untouchable. Until she came along. **Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

My Review:

5/5 Stars!!

Wicked Bond is so bittersweet and I LOVED it! This book is bar far my favorite of the Wicked Horse series and quite possibly my favorite Sawyer Bennett book yet!

I have been itching for Bridger’s book since, well since I read about him in book one. Bridger has quietly rested in the background of the entire series, popping up when needed and making his gruff, sexy self available to his friends. He was always a mystery and the one character that I needed to know more about. Finally, we get Bridger’s story…all the beautiful and messy details of it.

Bridger has been an enigma from the beginning. He was Woolf’s best friend, the co-owner and later full owner of The Wicked Horse and more importantly, The Silo. He was gruff and sexy and doled out some seriously sexy and sometimes kinky stuff. We were given bits and pieces of him throughout, but just enough to leave us wanting more.

I am giving nothing away…absolutely nothing, because I want you, the reader, to experience all the goodness of this book. What I will say is that once you pick this up book up, you will not want to put it down. You will cry and swoon and feel anger and sadness and love. Because, you can’t help but love Bridger. You just can’t.

So, whether you have read the other books in the series or not (and it is not necessary to have read them), you will not want to miss this beautifully bittersweet book. If this is truly the end of the Wicked Horse series, then I must applaud Sawyer Bennett on a fantastic set of books and a perfect and satisfying ending!

Blog Tour & 3.5 Star Review of Wicked Ride by Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Ride Blog Tour BannerWicked Ride (The Wicked Horse Series Book #4)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: June 28, 2016

Synopsis:
I think this woman may be the death of me. A dire prediction, but probably true.
Probably true because she’s not mine to have and I’ll probably take her, even at the risk to my own safety. So many men slobbering to get a taste of her and only one, sweet, virginal girl to go around.
That’s right.
She’s a virgin.
Looking like a porcelain china doll that would break if not handled carefully. But I also know she’s stronger than she looks.
She’s a contradiction.
She’s most likely my downfall.
Like I said, she’ll probably be the death of me, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

My Review:

Wicked Ride is the fourth book in The Wicked Horse series.  This is Logan’s story.  It’s funny.  Logan’s story is the story I didn’t know I wanted.  Woolf, Cain, even Rand, I felt a connection to those characters, but Logan was like this aloof character who just showed up when someone needed a Fantasy Maker.  I know we are all highly anticipating Bridger’s story, but after reading Logan’s story, I’m glad Sawyer Bennett gave each of the players their own story before closing the loop with Bridger’s book.

That being said, it was hard to connect with Logan.  There was little to no back story on him in the previous three books.  All I really knew about Logan was that he liked to have kinky sex.  We got a teeny, tiny bit of insight in Wicked Need when Rand asked him to help him out with Cat, but other than that, he just sort of popped up when he was needed.  So, for him to have an entire back story with no real introduction was a little hard for me to get into.

However, Logan’s story is pretty heavy.  Not the plot of the book, but Logan’s backstory itself.  I won’t spoil, of course, but let’s just stay, it’s pretty deep.

The heroine in the story is Auralie.  She is timid and under the control of a man, who is auctioning off her virginity to a member of the club.  She has a pretty crazy backstory herself.  Honestly, I liked her more than Cat, but not more than Callie and Sloane.  Until the end, she was kind of a doormat (for a good reason). When she and Logan finally give into their desires for one another, things get pretty steamy and creative.  Once she finally takes control, you kind of have to love her.

I didn’t like the plot of this book.  It was so far out in left field, I had a hard time swallowing what I was being given.  I had come to expect a different sort of steam with this series of books and there was almost none of that, so I was a bit disappointed.  That’s not to say it wasn’t hot, it just wasn’t up to the level of the other books.

The connection between Logan and Auralie was most definitely insta-love.  In fact, they spend almost four whole chapters having internal conversations with only looks.  Meh.  I get it, but I didn’t like it.

If not for Logan’s backstory (which we don’t get until the very end) and Bridger (because that guy can get anything done.  Seriously!), I’m not sure I would have liked this one.  It is Sawyer Bennett, though, and her name and writing kept me going to the end.

Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance, Erotica

Synopsis:

Rand Bishop’s dreams of Olympic gold were shattered years ago but he’s left that all behind, settling into a new career and lifestyle that would make any man jealous. He’s good at what he does.
Damn good.

But while life couldn’t be better for Rand, it seems to be falling apart for Catherine Lyons Vaughn, the dark haired, brown-eyed beauty that has captivated an entire sex club.

Having spent years degrading herself on her husband’s whim and now left destitute after his death, Catherine has hit rock bottom. With nothing but her body to peddle, Catherine is merely trying to figure out how to survive in a harsh, cruel world. Lucky for her, Rand has taken her under his tattooed wing, and he’s determined to give her a safe life where she can be the woman she was always meant to be.

Now all Catherine has to do is believe she deserves the chance.
My Review:

Rating: 3.5 stars

Wicked Need is book 3 in The Wicked Horse Series and I want to say I liked it as much as the first two, but, unfortunately, I didn’t. It isn’t that the book isn’t good. It’s what I have come to expect from Sawyer Bennett, who ranks up there on my list of favorite authors. The problem was it was a bit bland compares to the previous two books.

Wicked Need is Rand’s story. Well, his and Catherine’s. Both characters have appeared in the previous two books. I liked that we got to know Catherine, or now Cat, better. She’s actually a pretty great character. Unfortunately, Rand didn’t do it for me. I get that he is different from the guys in the other books, but I never felt like I got enough of him to really connect with his character. Honestly, this should have been subtitled Catherine’s Story, not Rand’s Story.

Anyway, the writing is good, not Bennet’s best, but still good. The plot was interesting, the story was predictable but good. I guess I was just wishing for a little more.

Still worth a read, though.
